Welcome to Frank & Dixon

I sold my D70 today, that leaves me with a Nikon FE and a Canon Demi as my primary cameras. Maybe it's a step backwards in terms of workflow, but I'm kind of excited about the change in style.

Been travelling a bit and while the camera has grown pretty dusty of late, I managed to pull it together for a bit of street photography while in KL and make the trek from "Petaling St to KLCC"

Continuing through Tim's image library I've come across a series shot in Birmingham, in the UK. We didn't speak much about his trip there, but I know that he was excited at the prospect of capturing the 'essence' of the place. I suspect he may have done so.

I've submitted an image to JPG magazine at the last minute. You can click here to vote for it. I suspect I'm too late, but submitted it as a distraction from doing actual work.

Gradually sorting through Tim's recent photography . . . it's strange to discover little collections of images he'd been working on – like uncovering a personal secret. Posted this month is the first of these little discoveries – an existentialist series I've titled Snow. {22/9/06}

About a month before Tim died he sent through a new series "funky town". Because life was just too busy I didn't have the time to even look at it, let alone put it online . . . well finally, it's here, and I feel honoured. {16/9/06}

Something like the death of a close friend really changes everything. I've moved dayshift.org onto this server and will stop updating it in an effort to focus on this site and a few other creative projects that Tim and I had on the go. {21/8/06}

The returning visitor will note the site re-design. I've been working on it for ages and in a moment of foolishness, decided it was time to implement. Three days later, here it is. {15/8/06}

Everyone who knew Tim Frank, has been profoundly shocked by his sudden death. Tim was travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu today (Friday 7 July 2006) when his motorbike collided with a bus in Dhading. He died in the operating room at the B&B Hospital in Kathmandu. {10/7/06}
